Gutter Fixing Fascia brackets should be fixed at a maximum of 1 meter intervals. In areas of heavy snow fall, two screws (1" x 8 recommended) should be used for each bracket and the spacing intervals reduced to 800mm. When fixing to cellular fascia board, use screws which penetrate the full thickness of the board. A fascia bracket should be fixed 150mm from a union, outlet or angle. Each gutter fitting has a line marked internally, the gutter should be installed to this line to allow room for contraction and expansion. Down pipe Fixing Pipe clips should be spaced no more than 1.8m apart. 32 x 6.5mm screws should be used. A supporting pipe clip should be used where sockets, bends, branches or shoes are used. A 10mm expansion gap should be allowed at each joint. Swan Neck Joints should be constructed on site using two offset bends with a short length of pipe. |
